Given that the Dodge Charger Hellcat is the speediest sedan available in the United States today, it’s not likely that it can get much better, right? Wrong. As recently announced by Dodge, the Charger SRT® Hellcat will come in a new Redeye edition for the 2021 model year that comes with a significant increase in performance.
The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT® Hellcat Redeye Edition has a significantly improved engine that is more powerful than ever before. The Hellcat’s standard 6.2-liter V8 engine has been upgraded for the Redeye variant with a 2.7-liter IHI supercharger that produces more boost, an increased redline, an additional dual-stage fuel pump to better handle the engine’s additional air intake, and fortified rods and pistons.
All in all, the mechanical improvements to the Redeye’s engine translate to a massive 80 horsepower gain over the standard 2021 Hellcat’s already-impressive 717 horsepower rating. The 2021 Dodge Charger Redeye will also produce an unprecedented 707 lb-ft of torque that will catapult the sporty four-door sedan to a top speed of 203 MPH. It is reported by Dodge that the Redeye is capable of traveling a quarter mile in just 10.6 seconds.
Though the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT® Hellcat Redeye Edition isn’t available yet, Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM has a number of Dodge Chargers available to test drive today.
